Hello there, I’m Alwin.

Welcome to my little corner of the internet, where I share what I’m working on, things I’ve learned, and projects I’ve built along the way. A little about me:

I’m a photographer, designer, and someone who spends a lot of time figuring out how things work.

I’ve been working with photo and video for the last 12 years. I like walking around with a camera, or sometimes just my phone, and finding interesting things in otherwise ordinary places. Most of my favorite photos come from something I would have walked right past if I wasn’t paying attention. Video came along later, for the stories that work better with movement, sound, and a little more context.

I’m also into design. I care about how things look and how they make me feel, but probably spend just as much time thinking about how they work. I notice the small details: spacing that feels off or something that could be simpler. I usually don’t leave it alone.

My background is in Information Systems, and that side of me never really switched off. I run a small homelab for my experiments, automate more of my Mac than I probably should, and have a habit of spending far too much time solving problems that didn’t need solving in the first place.

I read, watch films, try new things, and learn about whatever happens to catch my attention. Lately, I’ve also been learning to write for the web and getting better at putting my thoughts and experiences into words. I’ve never been particularly good at sticking to just one thing. I don’t think I want to be.

This site is where I keep some of it: things I make, photos I take, projects I’m working on, things I’m learning, and whatever else I find interesting enough to share.
